‘Learning Buddies’ provides an opportunity for our children to work with older/younger children in the school. Each room has a ‘partner’ class they are twinned with. Working collaboratively the children enjoys developing skills and knowledge with their partner class. The children really look forward to making new friends, often with children they would not normally encounter. ‘Learning Buddies’ meet at least once per half-term, although it can be more often.
Along with sharing stories and maths games this initiative helps all children to recognise the importance of ‘loving learning’. This term our Learning Buddies worked together to create our ‘Respect wall’ and will soon be focusing on ‘Anti-Bullying Week’. Any ideas/suggestions from parents for activities we could complete would be gratefully received.
