Loving Learning, Loving God, Loving Our Neighbour

School Council

Our School Council meets several times each term. Two representatives are elected by each class (Year 2 and above). All representatives serve for one school year.

We discuss development ideas suggested by the school’s SLT (senior leadership team), or other members of the staff. The representatives are encouraged to bring suggestions from their classmates for improvements to the school, charities to support and ideas for fundraising activities. The representatives also carry out pupil voice surveys with their class.

As well as regular meetings, last year we held a stall at the summer fair to raise money for our chosen charities , raising £81.

In line with the school Behaviour Policy, the School Council usually chooses 3 charities each term- one national, one international and one local to raise funds for. However this year we will be supporting one very local cause- a new, disability friendly, fully accessible bathroom for the sibling of one of our pupils., Ayala Brookes.

Many of you who have lived in the village for some time may be familiar with Ayala and her family. Ayala is severely disabled and has had many medical interventions in her short life. She moves around with the aid of a ‘high-tech’ wheelchair and needs a lot of support and specialist help to do the things that we all take for granted.

Ayala’s family are fundraising to have a specially adapted bathroom built in their house so that Ayala can wash/ shower more easily and have a bit more independence.

Our fundraising will go towards this worthy cause. If you would like to make an additional donation personally you can visit her ‘Just Giving’ page at www.justgiving.com/ayalabeaubrooks
