Welcome to St Helen’s School
Welcome to St Helen’s Church of England Primary School
As a Church of England Primary School, we believe that our mission is to provide all our pupils with more than just academic success. We are a school with clear principles and a strong Christian ethos. Our main aim therefore, is to offer every child the opportunity, within a Christian framework, to succeed at a level appropriate to his or her individual potential and ability. This philosophy is central to our continued success.
In fulfilling this mission I have the daily privilege of leading an excellent team of teaching and support staff, all of whom are fully committed to providing the very best education for the children who attend the school. At St Helen’s we pride ourselves in delivering an inspired, rich, balanced and varied curriculum and the children are at the heart of everything we do. They are given abundant opportunities to make, perform and create, thus preparing them for an active and purposeful future.
We are also very fortunate to have supportive parents, many of whom give freely of their time to assist in the classrooms on a regular basis. In addition to this ongoing support during the school day the Friends of St Helen’s, of which every parent with a child at the school is a member, raise very significant sums of money to enhance and enrich the activities of the school.
The Governors, who between them have vast knowledge and experience, work alongside me to ensure that the school runs efficiently and effectively and to see that high standards are maintained, year on year.
Most importantly, our children are encouraged to display the qualities that will stand them in good stead as they eventually move to their secondary schools. The staff in those secondary schools often articulate the fact that St Helen’s pupils, as well as being high academic achievers, are enthusiastic, responsive and confident. If you would like to see evidence of this ‘first hand’ then I would be delighted to welcome you and to show you around our school.
