Welcome to St Helen's School website

Welcome!

St Helen’s is a school that has love at its centre. Our 2023 SIAMS inspections stated, ‘Love of others emanates around the school.’

St Helen’s is proud to be a Church of England school. It means that we are here to serve families of all faiths and none – everyone is welcome. We are a values led school and our values of perseverance, respect, community, wisdom, kindness and truth will give children the skills they need for life.

We strive to provide the best possible range of opportunities for all of our children. We do that through our academic teaching, but also through our broad inclusive sports offering, our forest school and nature area, our fabulous OPAL play scheme, our music, our school trips, our residentials (for years 5 and 6), our extra-curricular clubs – and so much more. We are passionate that all opportunities are accessible to all pupils – no-one is left behind.

Our last published Ofsted described us as, 'a calm, welcoming and vibrant community...where pupils are proud to serve their peers.' Our SIAMS inspection said, ‘Genuine care is both given and received.’ We very much like to think of ourselves as a village school at the centre of our community.

Our vision statement is inspired by the bible: Hebrews 6:10 (NIV)

“God will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.’

We explain this to our children by telling them:

‘We work together to understand, show and share God’s love. Adults and children act with honesty and kindness, appreciate each other’s differences and love their neighbours. We strive to approach all learning with a positive attitude, a sense of collaboration and a desire to achieve.’

These sentiments are at the centre of everything we do.

The best way to find out about our school is to come and see us. You can meet members of our leadership team, wonderful teachers and support staff, see the children in their day-to day environment, and (if it’s not raining!) explore our beautiful grounds. To arrange a visit please contact the school office on 01582 832106 or email admin@sthelens.herts.sch.uk.

We look forward to welcoming you at St. Helen’s sometime soon!

Our School PRayer

Dear God

Thank you for helping us to build friendships and to show love to our neighbours.
Thank for all the gifts that you have given us.
Thank you for our school family, both the children and adults.

Help us to be understanding towards others.
Help us to be kind and truthful.
Help us to persevere with our learning to do the best we can.

Bless St Helen’s and our village with your love.

Amen
